A battery balancer is a device which can actively trickle energy into a weak cell, they may also include the function of a battery regulator to prevent overcharging. Balancers are neede for Lithium Polymer / LiPo battery packs.
While the Blinky actively balances the batterys, The Accu-Cycle monitors the temperature and charging, which will maximize the life of a battery pack.
The battery contains more than one cell in either series or parallel or both. When the battery gets discharged if all the cells discharge at different rates, the voltage of each cell is different when the battery is fully discharged. Now if the battery is charged connecting only 2 wires all the cells cannot be charged properly because all the cells are in series or parallel. The CopterX Balancer Charger provides a solution to this problem. It charges all the cells individually.
Lithium Polymer / LiPo batteries are common and one of the most popular types of battery used in RC Helecopters, with one of the best energy-to-weight ratios, no memory effect, and a slow loss of charge when not in use.
Packs are often simpler for end users to repair or tamper with than a sealed non-serviceable battery or cell. Though some might consider this an advantage it is important to take safety precautions when servicing a battery pack as they pose a danger as potential chemical, electrical, and fire risks.
